Updated Product Labels Hit Stores Ahead of World Soil Day
Dr. Bronner’s has updated its product labels for its Pure-Castile Magic Liquid Soap and Magic Bar Soap. The updated Magic Soap labels highlight that the soaps are now made with Regenerative Organic Certified oils and include new text about the company’s commitments to “Heal Earth!” and “Heal People!”
Company founder Emanuel Bronner first began referring to Dr. Bronner’s soaps as ‘Magic Soap’ following an article in Esquire magazine, published in 1973, titled “Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap,” which referred to Dr. Bronner’s soap as ‘magic’ due to its many uses, and the unique label touting the founder’s philosophy. Since then, Magic Soap has become synonymous with Dr. Bronner’s brand, as the company has grown to produce a variety of certified fair trade and organic personal care products.
“We have added messaging about our company’s work to ‘Heal Earth’ through our regenerative organic and fair trade supply chains and our work to ‘Heal People’ through ethical business practices and dedicating our profits to advance progressive social change,” said David Bronner, Cosmic Engagement Officer (CEO) of Dr. Bronner’s. “These are especially important times to remember what my grandfather emphasized throughout his life, ‘We are All-One or None! All-One!’ Our label honors him and his message and makes it clear to our customers that we make the best soap that takes care of people and our planetary home.”
Among the new information on the updated labels, one important detail is that Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Magic Soap is made with Regenerative Organic Certified oils. To date, the Regenerative Organic Alliance has confirmed more than 18 million acres of agricultural land have transitioned to Regenerative Organic Certified since the certification’s founding in 2017. Dr. Bronner’s has transitioned more than 75,000 acres of its agricultural supply chain to become Regenerative Organic Certified.
World Soil Day is held annually on December 5 as a means of focusing attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. Dr. Bronner’s is committed to healthy soils, and its sourcing of Regenerative Organic Certified ingredients is one way the company has operationalized its commitment to healthy soils and a healthy environment.

What Is Regenerative Organic Certified?
Regenerative Organic Certified is a third-party certification overseen by the nonprofit Regenerative Organic Alliance. It builds on organic certification—meaning all Regenerative Organic Certified farms and producers must first meet USDA Organic standards (or recognized international equivalents)—and then layers on additional requirements in three key pillars: Soil Health & Land Management, Animal Welfare, and Farmer & Worker Fairness.
Regenerative Organic Certified Provides:
Carefully grown ingredients: Regenerative Organic Certified oils are produced from practices that promote soil health and climate resilience, ensure fair prices for farmers, support living wages and excellent working conditions, and investment in local communities.
Real assurance vs. greenwashing: Under Regenerative Organic Certified standards, there are clear rules for using the name and seal, including labeling requirements.
Premium ingredients: Regenerative Organic Certified ingredients are sourced from practices that benefit the soil health and promote fair labor for farmers and workers—an investment many consumers find meaningful.
Regenerative Organic Certified is changing agriculture and brands in a meaningful way. It’s not just about making products that are “less bad”—it’s about creating systems that are healing, regenerative, and fair.
