Mixing Essential Oils with Dr. Bronner’s

If you’ve been dreaming of combining your favourite ECO. Modern Essentials scent with Dr. Bronner’s soap, then our Baby Unscented Pure-Castile Liquid Soap is the perfect place to start! It contains no essential oils and double the amount of olive oil, making it the perfect soap for both washing your body and face as well as all  household cleaning needs!

 Once you’ve settled on the scent, you can either mix the essential oil directly into the Baby Unscented, or can add the essential oil into your other DIY dilutions. Mixing directly might lead to some separation between the oils and the soap, so you'll want to give it a good shake before each use. If you want to avoid separation altogether, here are a few mixing tips!

-Heat the soap in a stainless-steel pot over low heat for about 5 minutes
-Add the soap and oil(s) together in an immersion blender
-Blend for 1 minute
-Stir occasionally while soap cools
-Once cooled, pour blended soap into a bottle 

Dilutions and uses

Foaming Handwash

To create your own DIY foaming handwash, fill your bottle with one part soap and three of those parts of water. Add a few drops of your favourite ECO. Modern essential oil to create a custom scent, we recommend the Australian Shores Essential Oil, a gorgeous blend of Lemon, Eucalyptus, Vanilla and Tea Tree! 

Multipurpose Spray

Add ¼ c. (60 mL) of the soap in a quart (1 L) of water in a spray bottle. Add a few drops of your favourite ECO. Modern Essential oil. Swirl gently to mix. Spray surfaces and wipe with a damp cloth. Alternately, spray a damp cloth and wipe surfaces. This mix can be used to clean your whole house, from kitchen benches to shower tiles and toilet bowl, wood tables as well as stainless steel appliances and will leave your house smelling amazing!

Relaxing Bath

Enhance your bath routine by simply adding a beautiful aroma to help calm & destress! For this DIY, roughly pour 2 Tbsp. of our Baby Unscented Liquid soap to your tub. Add a few drops of your favourite ECO. Modern essential oil. Relax and enjoy your bath! ECO. Modern Essentials recommend Lavender for relaxing, Rose 3% as a sedative, Eucalyptus for clearing and Frankincense for soothing.
