A little bit about Gero…
Born in Cologne, Germany, Gero Leson has a master’s degree in Physics from the University of Cologne and a doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering from UCLA. He worked as an environmental scientist and consultant for many years before teaming up with Dr. Bronner’s as Vice President of Special Operations to establish several organic and fair trade projects with smallholder farmers worldwide. Based in California, he continues to transform the company’s global supply chains to be among the most regenerative and ethically-minded worldwide and recently authored the book, ‘Honor Thy Label’, a fascinating and inspiring read for entrepreneurs, environmentalists, engineers, and conscious consumers alike, who seek to better understand how business can truly be a force for good in the world.
The Dr. Bronner’s Australia team is very excited to host Gero is Australia for the first time. He will spend time in Melbourne, where our office is based, before making his way to the Sunshine Coast for Woodford Folk Festival. This will be the second year Dr. Bronner’s has had a representative speak at the festival, with ambassador Maree Lowes presenting a talk on Resilient Thinking in an Everchanging World and hosting a panel on Climate Change and Action last year.
Dr. Bronner’s Australia will also be providing Organic Pump Soap for the 6-day festival and campgrounds, making us the official soap sponsor for a third year in a row. We’re also pleased to supply smaller events that take place at Woodfordia throughout the year. Our products can also be purchased in the on-site general store.
